IMPORTANT!!
    1)  Connecticut has new regulations concerning boating certificates.  The CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) requires students to obtain, prior to attending a class, and at no cost, a Connecticut Conservation ID Number.  That number automatically places the student's information into the State of CT system.  This currently is the same system that allows CT residents to obtain hunting and fishing licenses.
*** Any one that currently has a hunting or fishing license will already have the number.
    2)  The DEEP's website can be found at https://www.ct.wildlifelicense.com/InternetSales/Sales.
    3)  The student will need to provide the Flotilla with that number on the day of the class.
    4)  If the student passes the test at the end of the class the Flotilla will submit on-line to the State "the pass" on that student's ID number.
    5)  The student will then be able to go to the State web site, pay the $50.00 fee by credit card and print his/her Certificate (generally within 72 hours).

US Coast Guard Auxiliary Vessel Safety Exams

VSC Decal

Since Flotilla 24-11 is a "full-service" Flotilla, we can inspect your vessel and make sure it is safe and complies with all the Federal and State laws.  Upon successfully completing the inspection, you will be awarded a decal to affix to your vessel's windshield.  These exams are free.  Just call our Flotilla to schedule an exam.   These are performed by specially trained Auxiliarists who are kept informed on the latest legal requirements for boaters.  These inspectors have no legal authority - they are there simply to prevent you from getting citations and safety-related accidents.

Inspections include (depending on vessel size):

  • Numbering
  • Registration & Documentation
  • Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs)
  • Visual and Audible Distress Signals
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Ventilation
  • Backfire Flame Arrestors
  • Navigation Lights
  • Sanitation Devices
  • Placard display
  • Navigation Rules

Call (203) 932-2651 today to schedule an inspection.
